The incident occurred on June 14, around 10:30 p.m., when officers responded to a large group of people involved in a physical fight. One male suffered minor injuries, while another male was taken to a trauma center with multiple stab wounds, but is now in stable condition.
Steven Edward McCarthy, of no fixed address, was found in Oshawa and is facing charges including administering a noxious substance, breach of probation, aggravated assault, and possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. At the time of the incident, McCarthy was on weapons prohibition conditions. Investigators are seeking anyone with information or footage of the incident to come forward.
