Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton addressed recent changes in U.S. intelligence leadership during a recent interview.
Speaking on the “Democracy Docket” podcast, Clinton discussed the appointment of Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence following the resignation of his predecessor.
She described Pulte as lacking experience in the intelligence community, labeling him “dangerous” and a “loose cannon.”
Clinton warned that career officials within intelligence agencies might be reluctant to share information with the acting director, suggesting some may be slow‑walking or withholding data.
Since taking office, Pulte has terminated more than fifty senior career intelligence officials and reassigned numerous political appointees.
The personnel actions include the dismissal of six political intelligence staffers and the reassignment of forty‑five others back to their original agencies.
In a public statement, Pulte praised the National Counterterrorism Center team, calling them “true professionals and American patriots” and affirming their role in protecting the country under current leadership.
